Conor Sheehan

Labour Party

I believe in Limerick. It’s where I’m from, where I’ve worked and studied, but I think we can do better. I want to make Limerick the best place in Ireland to work, live and raise a family. I want to be the voice at the top table for people who have suffered on foot of the economic and housing crisis

Priorities

  • Housing

We need to build 1500 homes a year, tackle dereliction and vacancy and bring life back into our city centre by getting people living in our city again

  • Transport

I want to deliver park and ride, implement Bus Connects, roll out contactless payment, a bus service for Newcastlewest and Kilmallock.

  • Law & order

We need 30 extra Gardaí, as Mayor I will seek to chair the Community Safety Forum and chair a mayoral taskforce on addiction and homelessness.

Comment: "The LPT is a progressive tax and one of very few revenue raising measures Limerick City and County Council have. As a net benefactor of the equalisation fund, I want to see LPT revenue invested in community amenities such as parks and playgrounds. "

Comment: "The M20 must be urgently progressed. The Cork/Limerick road is extremely dangerous. Given that the NDR is not in the National Development Plan, it is not worth the paper it is written on. There is no stream from which to draw funding from and as a result it is undeliverable. "
